Eligibility
Must be age 18 by February 29, 2024
Must be a resident within San Diego County, California geographic borders.
Selected Finalists must compete in shopping finals at shopping center where entry submitted to win any prize.
Employees and immediate family members of Terra Nova Plaza and Mission Marketplace and its tenants, NewMark Merrill Co. and its vendors, and Very Special Events, and winners of the 2023 Chula Vista Best Shopper and 2023 Oceanside Best Shopper contests, are not eligible to enter.
One entry per person at each center.
Best Shopper Finals
Five Finalists will be selected from each center’s entries based on their essays about “Why I’m San Diego’s Best Shopper.”
Finalists and Alternates names will be posted on both shopping center Facebook pages and lnstagram by March 5, 2024.
Selected Finalists and Alternate at each center’s Finals must check-in by 10:15 a.m. and present proof of residency with a current driver’s license or name on current utility bill. Each Finalist will get $500 and the same assignments to shop from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
If any Finalist cannot compete in the Finals shopping contest or does not have residence proof, an Alternate will replace that Finalist and receive the $500 to shop in the Finals.
Starting at 3 p.m. each center’s judges will review the Finalists purchases to select San Diego’s Best Shoppers – one winner from the Mission Marketplace Finals on March 9 and one winner from the Terra Nova Plaza Finals on March 16.
EACH center’s contest winner will get $1,000 to enjoy more shopping!
